Breakfast Out

Bonnie and Dale so kindly invited us to meet them for Breakfast this morning! We were happy to do so! Madelyn had just finished nursing when they called, so rushing out the door I grabbed half a banana, a bowl, and a spoon so she could finish her breakfast at the restaurant.
Madelyn has slowly been warming up to Grandpa Dale,
so I offered to let him take the spoon.
What can I say, the man's a natural baby feeder!

YUM! Obviously Madelyn likes it!

"Now that you've fed me, we're friends for life!"

Grandpa, Madelyn, and Grandma

Isn't this the best face Madelyn is making?

I wonder what she's thinking!

Uncle Greg

We had a little BBQ at Dale and Bonnie's with Gary's brother, Greg. It's always fun to see Uncle Greg when he treks in from P-Town.
(that's Portland, for you non-locals) :-)

I'm not sure why Madelyn looks so concerned....

Bryson & Madelyn

Bryson loves to come over and help me with Madelyn.
She gets smothered with affection from this cousin!

Girlfriends' Date

Madelyn and Mikael:

This is the first time I have seen beautiful Mikael since her wedding, 2 and a half years ago. I loved finally being able to meet her darling little Makenzie!

Julee and Madelyn:

And the last time I saw gorgeous Julee was at my wedding, almost 2 years ago. She got married 2 months ago!

It was so fun to reminisce about Old Times! Hopefully we'll be seeing more of these girls soon.

Six Months Stats

Madelyn was blessed with the opportunity to get more shots yesterday! (ha) At six months old, she is 14 lbs, 6 oz and 26.5 inches tall. She weighs just more than double her birth weight! Her weight and head circumference are in the 25th percentile and her height is in the 75th percentile.

Our big challenge these days is that Madelyn has ceased sleeping through the night. Hopefully she is just experiencing a growth spurt where she needs extra nourishment, and she'll get through it quickly! Mommy needs more sleep! :)

Another Father's Day

We had Bonnie and Dale over for dinner the day after Father's Day to celebrate with them. Madelyn knows who it's all about!

Gary's First Father's Day

Madelyn got a special shirt for this momentous occasion.
Oh, how Daddy can make her laugh!

Hungry?

This was on Father's Day at my parents' house. Madelyn sees that spoon across the room! She looks like a little baby bird. Thankfully we don't have to regurgitate food for her, however.

Balloon Festival

The Portland Area Curves owners collaborated to sponsor the Curves hot air balloon at the Tigard Festival of Balloons. It was really neat!
Gary got the elephant ear he'd been hankering for.
Madelyn and I got to climb in the basket. That fire was HOT, and VERY loud. Everyone was shocked that Madelyn wasn't startled by the noise. Truthfully, she didn't even seem to notice it. I am glad she is not super sensitive.
This is just a cool picture of the night glow. Notice that our balloon is skinnier than the rest...want to know why? Because it works out at Curves of course!

Nap with Daddy

I snuck in to find this adorable sight--I guess Bill O'Reilly bored them both to sleep! :-)

Happy Girl

Grandma Winkel snapped this sweet smile while my dad and I were out on an ATV ride all around their property. Madelyn had awoken from her nap while we were gone, and was happy for Grandma!

Cousin Kaden

Playing with Kaden Fairhurst (our next door neighbor too!)

Yummy!

Madelyn's first tastes of baby rice cereal. She LOVED it!
