Dog Bed, 2

Remember last month, when Madelyn was under the weather and fell asleep in a laundry basket?

This is a picture of that occurrence on January 20th. Then last night, Madelyn had a high temperature again :( and decided to make another "dog bed" to snuggle up in while she wasn't feeling well.  She did actually fall asleep in it this time, too, but I didn't take another picture.
What I DID take a picture of is what we found in Madelyn's "dog bed" when we all returned home later that night:

Kezia decided to make use of the bed!

Homemade Princess

Madelyn can be so creative sometimes. She turned a balloon we'd blown up the day before into a princess in a long pink dress. I did not help one iota with this project, in fact I didn't even see it until she was finished.

Valentine's Day

We started out this special Valentine's Day with a pink heart-shaped chocolate-chip pancake.

At Madelyn's school party she made several crafts.

And they had a mini dance party.

Madelyn appears to be the tallest in her class. There are only 3 Kindergartners (the 2 girls left of her), and the rest are younger.

Madelyn said to me in the afternoon, "This hasn't exactly been the Valentine's Day I imagined."  She proceeded to explain how she expected that we would go to the grandparents' house for dinner and see our cousins, that it would be more like a big family holiday. I was sorry she was disappointed, because she really had built Valentine's Day up in her mind. But really, pink heart-shaped pancakes, a surprise V-day gift from her parents, a party at school, and a bag full of Valentines (most with treats) - isn't that enough? :)

Safari Sam's

We were lucky to have Jack come for a double-sleepover, so we spent an afternoon at Safari Sam's.

The kids had a great time!

Jack had a little bruise on his cheek, which I thought was glowing under the blacklight! But upon closer inspection, and adding clues such as his glowing hand, I think it is actually.......snot. >:}

The mini golf course looks pretty cool in the black lights.

Before bedtime, I was busy at my computer and granted permission for the kids to do face paint. I envisioned a heart or rainbow on the cheek....this is what we got.  So we hit the bath and wiped them clean with makeup remover.
