New House, Bed, Park, School

We moved to a new house in a new town at the end of August. We don't know anyone here. It's been quite an adventure, of course, but honestly we've been so busy with our own little lives that there's been little opportunity to feel "lonely."

Here's the house.

We've had a lot of fun on the craigslist Treasure Hunt, and have found some great deals on really nice new furnishings for the new space. Like this bunk bed with drawers and a desk for Madelyn (we hadn't put the top mattress on yet in the picture).

We did quite a few projects around the house (and still more to go). Here is Madelyn helping Gary with the tile floor he installed in the laundry room.

There is a nice park just about 3 blocks from our house, so it's easy to walk or ride bikes to.

The best thing about the park is a giant sand pit full of toys and trucks.

Madelyn is finally getting the hang of pumping her legs on swings by herself. Yay!

She also has an obsession with collecting feathers. Which seems kind of gross to me, but we let her keep some of them.

Riding home on her bike!

Madelyn's first day at a brand new school. She was nervous, of course: not knowing anybody, different teachers and routines...but when we picked her up at the end of her first day, she was all smiles and loving it.
