Fishbowl

Madelyn has been a very responsible pet owner to Nonny II (the first fish she received for her 3rd birthday lasted less than 2 weeks--I swear it was ill before we got it though, because it never ate and didn't look as vibrant as this one).

We recently upgraded Nonny to this large vase and bought him a pink plant. Madelyn and I were introducing him to the new environment.

Random Zoo Pics

Went to the zoo with a couple of friends. Here are some random photos from the day.

Bridge Over Kezia

I guess these pictures are pretty self-explanatory.

Kezia was a very patient dog.

Self-accompanied

It's not often that Madelyn will go on like this knowing the camera is trained on her. The girl's got a nice lower register, she'll probably sing Alto. :)
These are some of the phrases you may be recognize in her song:
Maybe baby maybe you
Making a pie for me is very important
When it be melt
When a Wednesday important you
Maybe marry you
One old horse
Till it's Christmas and a horse needs to be out

Egg Hunt

I guess Madelyn felt so special all dressed up that she thought a crown would finish the look. I'd say she's right on.

Madelyn enjoyed hunting for some Easter eggs before dinner.
She does quite a bit of talking in this video.

In the Kitchen

Got this idea for a healthier PB&J in a parenting magazine: use sliced apples, with their natural star-shaped center cut out. Cute and fun. I'm so Martha.
Madelyn helped me prepare Easter Dinner to share with Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Dale. Yep, I'm still in pajamas.

Note that we never did find (or buy, I guess) the perfect stool.

Easter Dress Up

This dress was passed on to Madelyn by a friend several months ago, and has been hanging at the back of the closet throughout the winter. Madelyn randomly asked to wear it a few days before Easter, and since it was too cold for it that day, I had the bright idea to promise her she could wear it on Easter. We don't really have a reason to go out and buy a special Easter dress every year, but this one was just perfect for a lovely spring holiday.

Madelyn has so much fun dressing up. She asked for these black shoes, which I had actually put in the "too small" bin a long time ago. She dug them out though, and swears that they don't hurt her feet, even though I feel as though I had to stuff them inside! She also insisted on wearing them to school the next day.

I'd say she looks dang cute, though!

She's looking so reverent...and with the LDS hymnal behind her. I bet my mom will like this picture. :)

I actually have another hilarious montage of the silly photos taken between these ones that turned out well. But we'll stick with the good ones here.

I love this one:

Easter Basket

Madelyn found the little basket left by the Easter Bunny when she woke up Sunday morning. I had perviously showed the Bunny a few items Madelyn would love from the Sanrio store (Hello Kitty), and some rainbow striped tissues she selected at Borders (Madelyn is all about diversity). The most adorable bunny was a special find at Value Village the day my dad invited all of us out there for a shopping spree-his treat! (That was really fun.)

So happy!
